The Angel Tarot deck incorporates the designs of several traditional Western tarots and is one of the first complete tarot decks to originate in Japan. The colours of each card are rendered in medieval tone, primarily browns, oranges and reds.
The complete 78 card pack is divided into two sections, 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The 22 Major Arcana cards, also known as Triumphs, Atouts and Greater Arcana, comprise 21 allegorical cards numbered from l to XXl plus as unnumbered card kown as The Fool. The titles on the 22 Major Arcana cards are printed in English. Generally, the Major Arcana cards represent the physical and spiritual forces affecting man-illness, death, storms, strength, power, love and religion.
The remaining 56 cards of the Angel Tarot deck are called Minor Arcana or Lesser Arcana and they are devided into four suits: Swords, Wnds, Cups, Pentacles. The Minor Arcana cards generally represent occupations, social position and status.
